NEWNC Supports Three Requests

Three voting agenda items were supported unanimously by the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) at their monthly meeting held in the Nazzaro Community Center on Monday, May 14.

A request by Jen Royle seeking to create a private space at 445 Hanover St. with a cordial license received Council support.

A proposal by Jeff Drago to erect a five-story addition to a one-story building at 97 Salem St. was withdrawn to re-meet with abutters. He plans to change the existing occupancy from one commercial space to one commercial space and nine residential units.

John Gorman’s request to change the legal occupancy at 15 Snow Hill St. was okayed by NEWNC. His plans call for creating a four-family unit to a one family unit.

The Council also supported a request by Ristorante Limoncello 2 Inc., 76 Salem S., to sell their license to TreMonte Restaurant North End, LLC. Restaurant will remain at the same location.

Friends of the North End Library, Chris Sabbey, Pita Pagliuca and Jennifer Hawes presented information relating to programs and activities at the library.

Candidates from the NEWNC 2018 May 19 elections were introduced and spoke about why they would like to serve on the Council.

The next NEWNC monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, June 14 at 7 PM in the Nazzaro Community Center, 30 North Bennet St. All residents and business owners are welcome to attend.
