City Summer Safety Strategy Includes the Monitoring of House Parties

Boston Police will continue to strengthen public safety throughout the city with a committed strategy initiative currently implemented in an effort to reduce violence throughout the summer months.

A multi-pronged approach includes: Increase positive interactions between police and the community, engage youth with programming and activities, increased access to services and provide increased police presence and enforcement with a focus on guns.

“Summer safety is a city-wide effort,” Mayor Martin Walsh said. “By providing more opportunities for youth to have fun, get a summer job and get involved in their community, we’re providing a much-needed path away from violence.”

One of the many other commitments that will make a real difference in the North End is monitoring house parties that continue to be a problem in the community.
