NEAD Easter Party/March 31

An Easter Party has been organized by North End Against Drugs (NEAD) on Saturday, March 31 from 10 AM to 12 noon in the Nazzaro Community Center. The event is free.

FOCCP Monthly Meeting

Friends of Christopher Columbus Park parentheses FOCCP will hold its next monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Mariners House, 2nd Floor, 11 North Square.

NEWNC Membership Election May 19

The North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) 2018 election will be held on Saturday, May 19 in the Nazzaro Community Center, 30 North Bennet Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For details visitnewnc.com. Nomination papers will be available at NEWNC’s April 9 public monthly meeting in the Center starting at 7 p.m. A Candidates Night will be held on Monday, April 14 at 7 p.m. in the Center.

NSC Pasquetta Holiday Party

ABCD North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center (NSC), 1 Michelangelo Street will hold a Pasquetta Holiday Party on Friday, April 6 at 12:30 PM. Call 617-523-8125 in advance to reserve seating.

Student Scholarships

New Grandparents

Mike and Spring Giannasoli have become grandparents for the 1st time. They are the proud grandparents of their granddaughter Miracle.

Toddler Yoga

Boston Community Collaborations is offering Toddler Yoga at the Nazzaro Community Center on Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. with caretakers. For details call 617-635-5611.

Horticulture Volunteers Needed for FOCCP

The Friends of Christopher Columbus Park are looking for people interested in maintaining the roses and gardens of Christopher Columbus Park. The group meets every Wednesday at 6 p.m., every Thursday 8:30 a.m. and every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. in the Rose Garden. Everyone is welcome, no experience necessary, all tools and training are provided. For details email Robyn at [email protected].

Baseball Opening Day APRIL 28

The North End Athletic Association (NEAA) Little League (Majors) opening day will be held on April 28 at 12 p.m. at Langone Field.

Glow in the Park

Glow in the Park returns for its fourth year on Friday, June 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.  A signature event in downtown Boston, Glow takes place on the beautiful Greenway and includes favorite Greenway Food Trucks, local brews, great wines, and live entertainment. Kick-off the summer with an evening of dancing, lawn games, and lounging in the park!

Mark your calendars! Tickets go on sale in early April.

The friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) have announced their 2018 schedule at the park. All events are free and open to the public.

  • Saturday, May 5, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tot Lot Cleanup.
  • Saturday, June 10, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Independence Day Celebration, Fireworks on Boston Harbor.
  • Saturday, June 30 through August 25, 12 to 4 p.m., Lawn Games.
  • Sunday, July 22 through August 26, Dusk Sunday Night Movies.

Public Safety Meeting

The next Boston Police District A-1 Public Safety meeting will be held on Thursday, April 5 at 6 p.m. in the Nazzaro Community Center.

Dog Registration  at the Gassy

RUFF advises canine owners that they can register their dog license(s) on April 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dog Park located in the Gassy on Prince Street. For details email [email protected].

Dog Park Ceremonies

RUFF will officially hold opening ceremonies for the opening of the new Dog Park in the Gassy, on Saturday, April 28. Time to be announced.

Greenway Gala    SET FOR June 7

The 2018 Greenway Gala will be held on Thursday, June 7 at 6 p.m. in the park. Tickets will go on sale in April. For details visit the Greenway website.

Youth Summer Jobs

SuccessLink, an online tool that enables Boston youth to register for summer jobs is now up and running. Teens can apply by visiting the website BCYF YEE on youth.boston.gov. 24 hours a day through Friday, March 30 by 11:59 p.m.

Free English Classes Offered

Opera at          Steriti Rink

Steriti Skating Rink in Boston’s North End will be the site of the Boston Lyric Opera’s presentation, Travel in Tahiti, and Arias and Barcarolles newly combined into one harmonious work with marriage, dreams and disillusionment from May 11 to May 20. FONE Bocce at Skating Rink

Friends of the North End Bocce will continue through the winter months every Sunday morning at the Steriti Rink indoor courts. Spectators are welcome to attend. Spring/Summer tournaments will begin in late May.
