Haymarket Hotel Parcel 9 Public Meeting

A public meeting will be held on Monday, March 19 at 6 p.m. at Boston City Hall, 9th floor, in the Boston Planning and Development Agency Board Room relating to the Haymarket Hotel Parcel 9 development.

The development team has filed a Second Notice of Project Change (NPC). The key change is an increase in maximum height from 65 feet to 69 feet, 6 inches.

Glow in the Park

Glow in the Park returns for its fourth year on Friday, June 8 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.  A signature event in downtown Boston, Glow takes place on the beautiful Greenway and includes favorite Greenway Food Trucks, local brews, great wines, and live entertainment. Kick-off the summer with an evening of dancing, lawn games, and lounging in the park!

Mark your calendars! Tickets go on sale in early April.

2018 Events at Columbus Park

The friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) have announced their 2018 schedule at the park. All events are free and open to the public.

  • Saturday, May 5, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tot Lot Cleanup.
  • Saturday, June 10, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Independence Day Celebration, Fireworks on Boston Harbor.
  • Saturday, June 30 through August 25, 12 to 4 p.m., Lawn Games.
  • Sunday, July 22 through August 26, Dusk Sunday Night Movies.

Public Safety Meeting

The next Boston Police District A-1 Public Safety meeting will be held on Thursday, April 5 at 6 p.m. in the Nazzaro Community Center.

NEWNC Monthly Meeting

The next North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) monthly meeting will be held on Monday, April 9 at 7 p.m. in the Nazzaro Community Center.

NEWRA Monthly Meeting

The next North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, April 12 at 7 PM in the Nazzaro Community Center.

FOCCP Monthly Meeting

The next Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 10 at 6:30 PM in the Mariners House.

New LTA Baseball Program President

North End resident Ralph Martignetti has been voted in as President of the state-wide Lou Thompson All-Star baseball program.

Nazzaro Center Basketball Banquet

The Nazzaro Community Center’s Basketball program will hold its Small Fry Basketball Banquet on Sunday, March 18 at 11:45 a.m. at Fillipo’s Ristorante.

NSC St. Patrick’s  Day Party

Tomorrow, Friday, March 16 at 2:30 p.m. the ABCD North End Neighborhood Service Center, 1 Michelangelo Street, will hold a St. Patrick’s Day Party. Bad weather date will be announced. For more info call 617-523-8125.

Dog Registration  at the Gassy

RUFF advises canine owners that they can register their dog license(s) on April 7 from 11 AM to 1 p.m. at the Dog Park located in the Gassy on Prince Street. For details email [email protected].

Dog Park Ceremonies

RUFF will officially hold opening ceremonies for the opening of the new Dog Park in the Gassy, on Saturday, April 28. Time to be announced.

NSC Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day

North End seniors will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day on Friday, March 16 at 12:30 p.m. at the ABCD North End/West End Neighborhood Services Center, 1 Michelangelo Street. To reserve a seat, call 617-523-8125.

Greenway Gala    SET FOR June 7

The 2018 Greenway Gala will be held on Thursday, June 7 at 6 PM in the park. Tickets will go on sale in April. For details visit the Greenway website.

Youth Summer Jobs

SuccessLink, an online tool that enables Boston youth to register for summer jobs is now up and running. Teens can apply by visiting the website BCYF YEE on youth.boston.gov. 24 hours a day through Friday, March 30 by 11:59 p.m.

Senior Property Owners Can        Save Taxes

Boston Senior property owners have a chance to save the maximum of $1,500 off their taxes by volunteering in the City of Boston Senior Property Tax Work initiative.

Volunteers at city agencies will receive about $11.00 per hour through the City’s Elderly Affairs Department.

Free English Classes Offered

FONE Bocce at Skating Rink

Friends of the North End Bocce will continue through the winter months every Sunday morning at the Steriti Rink indoor courts. Spectators are welcome to attend. Spring/Summer tournaments will begin in late May.

NSC Seeks Kitchen Volunteers

The North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center is looking for three volunteer kitchen assistants to help with shopping, food preparation, cooking, serving and cleanup.

Schedule: Mondays and Fridays 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. and one Wednesday a month 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. For details call 617-523-8125.
