FOCCP presents “Tunnel of Love”   at Park’s Trellis

            Friends of Christopher Columbus Park (FOCCP) is gearing up to turn on the park’s well-known Trellis into a Tunnel of Love for Valentine’s Day on Sunday, February 10 from 4-9 PM. The event is free and open to the public.

NEMPAC Presents “Amore”

            North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) will present an opera dinner and concert “Amore” on Sunday, February 11 at Lucia Ristorante, 415 Hanover Street, North End.

Nazzaro Center/Aquarium Series

            Fifteen students from the Nazzaro Community Center will have the opportunity to participate in an amazing program at the New England Aquarium this spring from March 5 to April 9.

            The afterschool series is one class per week (45 minutes) for six weeks starting on Monday, March 5 ending on April 9.

The series is about science and literacy skills for students ages 6-9. Space is limited to fifteen people, cost is $2. For details call Nazzaro Center Program Supervisor Laurie D’Elia. This is a partnership with the Center and Aquarium.

Opera at          Steriti Rink

            Steriti Skating Rink in Boston’s North End will be the site of the Boston Lyric Opera’s presentation, Travel in Tahiti, and Arias + Barcarolles newly combined into one harmonious work with marriage, dreams and disillusionment from May 11 to May 20. FONE Bocce at Skating Rink

            Friends of the North End Bocce will continue through the winter months every Sunday morning at the Steriti Rink indoor courts. Spectators are welcome to attend. Spring/Summer tournaments will begin in late May.

105th Birthday Celebration

            Vincenza Raspa, a North End resident, recently (Jan. 15) celebrated her 105th birthday at the North End Rehabilitation Healthcare Center with friends and elected officials.

NSC Valentine’s    Day Celebration

            A Valentine’s Day Celebration will be held by the North End/West End Neighborhood Center, 1 Michelangelo Street on Friday, February 2 at 12:30 PM. Snow date: Monday, February 12.

NSC Seeks Kitchen Volunteers

            The North End/West End Neighborhood Service Center is looking for three volunteer kitchen assistants to help with shopping, food preparation, cooking, serving and cleanup.

            Schedule: Mondays and Fridays 11 AM-3 PM and one Wednesday a month 11 AM-3 PM. For details call 617-523-8125.

Valentine Coffee House Program

Friends of the North End Library and Christopher Columbus Park will co-host a Valentine Coffee House program at the North Bennet Street School, 150 North Street on Thursday, February 15 from 6:30PM to 8PM. All are welcome.

New Softball League Director

            Ralph Martignetti, NEAA Baseball Commissioner has taken on the Directorship of the North End Men’s Softball League.

NEAA Little League Baseball Registration

            Registration for the 2018 North End Athletic Association (NEAA) baseball program is underway. Opening Day will be Saturday, April 28 twelve noon in Puopolo Park.

            A regular Little League season will be held, playoffs, an All-Star Game and several tournament games will be played at the end of the season. An awards banquet will also take place. For the necessary information visit neaabaseball.org.
