NEWNC Supports Snelling Place Addition and Roof Deck

By Phil Orlandella

Besides a fire safety discussion from the Inspectional Services and Boston Fire Department, there was only one boating item on the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) December’s monthly meeting.

A unanimous vote of approval supporting a request by Rochelle Luongo, Trustee of the Snelling Place Family Trust, asking the City of Boston Inspectional Services Department to confirm the occupancy of 3 Snelling Place as a 3-family building and to construct a fourth-floor addition and roof deck to extend living space to the basement for Unit #1.

In addition, the Council voted to support a request by Frank and Karen Pellino to change the use of 28 Hanover Street (which they purchased) to three residential units and take-out restaurant with beer, wine and cordials license.

The Pellinos are currently in the owners of Pellino’s on Prince Street.

President John Pregmon reminded residents that the next NEWNC meeting will be held on Monday, February 12 at 7 PM in the Nazzaro Community Center.
