The Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture in collaboration with the Boston Arts Commission and MLK Boston has released a Request For Qualification (RFQ) for an artist to create a memorial dedicated to Martin Luther King, Jr. and Corella Scott King in Boston.

“This memorial will be a great way to recognize their influence on the City and to emphasize our continued efforts to make Boston a place where all people have equal opportunities,” Mayor Martin J. Walsh said.

Deadline for RFQ is Wednesday, February 28, by 12 noon.

New or Expanded Ferry Service

MassDOT has revealed a dozen sites which have been identified by stockholders as having the best potential for new or expanded ferry service as part of the ongoing Boston Harbor Water Transportation Study.

Routes between the sites will be analyzed to select the three routes most likely to have financial sustainable services.

Reportedly, business plans for these proposed routes will be completed this coming spring.
