Police Arrest Leominster Man Connected with NE Stabbing

Police have arrested Anthony Spinelli, 44, of Leominster in connection with the alleged stabbing of Bobby Pirelli (late 50s), a resident of Ausonia Council Apartments on Fulton Street, North End at 1:30 PM last Tuesday, December 20.

Pirelli was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital with life-threatening injuries, but according to Boston Police he is expected to survive.

A witness said he found Pirelli suffering from multiple stab wounds in his apartment. His sister Julie Pirelli identified the victim as her brother.

Another witness apparently reported the incident happened on the second floor of the dwelling designed for the elderly and disabled.

The same witness reported he found his neighbor with multiple stab wounds and a clear sign of a struggle after hearing an emergency alarm.

Julie said she doesn’t know why the suspect attacked her brother, just days before Christmas.

Boston Police arrested Spinelli in Revere hiding behind a shed in the backyard of a home. He was arraigned in Boston Municipal Court and charged with armed assault with intent to murder and held on $1 million-dollar bail.

No motive for the stabbing was released by police.

Pirelli recently became an Uber driver according to neighbors and he liked everyone in the building. He would help his elderly neighbors to the grocery store.

            He apparently left the luncheon in the building and went upstairs to get some drinks for everyone. That’s when he was probably stab a neighbor reported.
