AirBNB Regulations Bill Should be Passed

A bill filed by State Representative Aaron Michlewitz with some of his colleagues in the House, attempts to create solid policies directed at Airbnb (short term rentals) is not geared to stop the process but to regulate the system and create a sense of public safety and liability.

The measure is not to be confused with another bill that relates to taxation of the Airbnb fast growing business.

State Senator Joe Boncore supports some sort of regulatory policy that is fair and holds those involved responsible for safety and liability.

City Councilor Sal LaMattina has called for a public hearing to discuss the issue and the effects on the city. He favors a policy regulating the system.

While the Review supports the Airbnb business we also favor City and State regulations and taxation of the system that has become a viable business.
