Five North End Restaurants Denied Full Liquor Licenses

By Phil Orlandella

Unlike last time around, when the Boston Liquor Licensing Board awarded three full liquor licenses to North End restaurants, the Board did not approve any license to the five local restaurants that apply this time around.

Not awarded licenses were: Crudo, Carmelia’s, Strega, Antico Forno and Terramia. The Board did not make its decision until all submitted applications were heard.

Basically, North End/Waterfront neighborhoods groups (NEWRA and NEWNC) want to keep full liquor licenses at a minimum since there are about 126 restaurants in the community, many of them with full liquor licenses.
