NEWRA Expresses Concerns Relating to NSAMAP Study

A plan put forth by the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) is being questioned by the North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) stating concerns of the development within the North Station Bulfinch Triangle area would have serious impacts on the traffic flow between the North and West End.

The North Station Area Mobility Action Plan (NSAMAP) currently has four stages, the first of which is defining traffic problems in the area that residents have defined.

The project is slated for a draft action plan to be released in early December.

NEWRA representatives apparently feel that the project impacts were not defined in the current traffic estimates.

NEWRA noted that the MBTA and the Massachusetts Department of Transportation were not in attendance at the meeting they attend.

Funding for the study ($400.00) is coming from outside sources including Mass General Hospital, Delaware North (owners of TD Garden), Equity Residential, Avalon Bay Communities, Related Beal, Boston Properties, HYM Investment Group and Trinity Financial.
