While the North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) had opposed a request by Nicholas D’Amore to change the legal occupancy at 92-94 Salem Street at a prior monthly meeting. The community elected Council reversed its decision at its December monthly meeting voting 5-1 in favor.
Plans call for changing the property to nine residential units and one commercial space by erecting a five-story residential building at 3 Widget Street.
The proposed structure would connect to the existing six residential units and commercial space at 92-94 Salem Street.
The building will not exceed 55 feet according to Attorney Daniel Toscano who represented D’Amore.
The first time around the Council and many abutters and local residents had a problem with the plans not having a trash removal plan in an area that already has atrash removal issue.
Apparently, the issue was cleared up and NEWNC supported the request.
