Salem Street Five Story Addition Plans Deferred by Board of Appeals

It’s back to the community for a request by the owner of 92-96 Salem Street (Nicholas D’Amore) to develop a five-story addition in the rear of the building and change the occupancy from six residential units and two stores to 11 one-unit residential units and two stores.

The request was deferred until January by the City of Boston Inspectional Services Board of Appeals because the applicant has apparently made changes to the plans.

The North End/Waterfront Neighborhood Council (NEWNC) and the North End/Waterfront Residents’ Association (NEWRA) both opposed the plans for not having any trash removal or storage plans.

Many abutters and other residents attended the two community meetings also opposed the request for several reasons.
