As part of Boston’s historical past, Mayor Martin J. Walsh welcomed The Hermione to Boston Harbor.

The ship, an 18th century frigate, brought France’s Marquis de Lafayette to Boston during the American Revolution against the British.

Following its historic return to Boston, the ship makes its way up the eastern seaboard for her US summer tour.

The weekend celebration also saw the Portuguese Navy’s Tall Ship Sagres known by her white sails emblazoned with red crosses.

Cunard’s Queen Mary 2 also made its way into the harbor greeted by a public fireworks show in honor of the ships 175th anniversary.
