Nicholas Cammarata

Of Saugus

Nicholas Cammarata of Saugus, formerly of Cambridge, died on March 20. He was 30 years old.

A graduate of Dearborn Academy in Arlington, he was the beloved son of Anthony Cammarata and the late Stephanie (Gardyna); cherished grandson of Josephine (Pinieri) Cammarata and her late husband Joseph “Shoes” of Boston’s North End and Henry Gardyna of Cambridge and his late wife Eleanor (Tirella). He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral from the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere was on Thursday,  March 26 at 9 a.m. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St Leonard’s Church on Hanover St, Boston. Emmanuel “Manny” Manolios

Speech and Language pathologist

Emmanuel ‘Manny’ Manolios, a longtime North End resident, died of cancer on March 22. He was 81 years old.

The son of the late Athena and Antonios Manolios, he was born, raised, and educated in Manchester, New Hampshire, graduated from Central High School, earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Emerson College and a Master’s Degree from Syracuse University.

He was a Speech and Language Pathologist serving public schools in New York and Massachusetts. He had clinical affiliations in hospital and rehabilitation settings in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

The final 13 years of his career he worked for the Boston Public Schools.

One of the few Greek Americans residing in a predominantly Italian neighborhood, he cherished the passion and joy for life the Italian Community demonstrated.

He is survived by good friends, who will think of him always on upper Salem Street where he could often be found enjoying the “Sheafe winds on the Salem shore”.

He loved jazz music, and hanging out in coffee shops. His friends will miss the hours spent playing cribbage and laughing with Manny.

He was brilliant and kind and always made time for his friends.
