The long winter snowfall cost the state to run $22 million over budget.
Nearly $130 million was spent by the state on snow and ice cost during record accumulation.
Cost reportedly was at $129.3 million. The state used 6000,000 tons of salt this winter, twice the state’s storage capacity.
House lawmakers, last week included $50 million for snow and ice cost in a supplemental budget. The bill has moved to the Senate.
           Reportedly, MassDOT is two weeks behind paying for vendors for snow and ice removal on the state’s highways.
