Guy Cappello, Jr.

Popular Master Hair Stylist

Guy Cappello, Jr. of Lynnfield, formerly of Boston’s North End, died on February 14 at the Lahey Clinic in Peabody. He was 92 years old.

Mr. Cappello was born and raised in the North End and was educated in Boston Schools. He entered the U.S. Army in 1942 at the height of World War II to help defend his country. When he returned from his tour of duty, he went to work for his father in his barbershop in the North End of Boston. It was there where he learned his trade and later mastered his craft.

He eventually took over the family business and went on to open several other Men’s Hair Stylist Shops in Everett, Saugus and Peabody. Guy had a great reputation and a very successful business.

In 1952, he married the love of his life, Mary A. (Cicatelli.) The couple had one daughter, Pamela, his other love and they settled in Lynnfield to raise their daughter. Guy was a past member of the Knights of Columbus and The Sons of Italy.

He was the loving husband of Mary A. (Cicatelli) with whom he shared 56 years of marriage and the loving and cherished father of Pamela A. Cappello and her companion, Andrew Fee of Danvers. He was the brother of the late: Rosaria “Sally” Gulla, Rose Mackay, Ann D’Ortona and John Cappello and is also lovingly survived by several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, February 20 from 4 to 8 p.m., in the Vertuccio and Smith Home for Funerals, 773 Broadway (Route 107), Revere. His funeral will be conducted from the funeral home on Friday, February 21 at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Revere at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery in Lynnfield.
