Inclement weather didn’t stop residents from finding their way to the Nazzaro Community Center for the District A-1 Boston Police Public Safety monthly meeting where updated 30-day Part 1 crimes were reported.

Residents also had the opportunity to meet the new District Commanding Officer Captain James Hasson and to express opinions and make suggestions to police first hand.

Captain Hasson, about a month ago, replaced Captain Thomas Lee who took another position out-of-state.

Hasson is no stranger to the North End. Nine years ago he was a lieutenant in the district. He advised residents that he and his command are committed to working with the community to keep the crime rate down.

Crime statistics presented at the public meeting indicated still another drop in Part 1 incidents in the community, compared to the same time period last year.

The police report showed there were no homicides, sexual assaults, larceny from a motor vehicle, disorderly or graffiti reported.
