Grant Provides Many Summer Activities and Events

Many summer programs took place in the North End due to a generous grant (about $12,000) from The Boston Foundation through My Summer in the City Grant Program.

This collaboration has taken place successfully, over the past four years, providing summer programming and teen summer jobs coordinated by North End Against Drugs (NEAD).

Funds were used to create five teen internships, assistance for the North End Athletic Association (NEAA) 16-21 year old Dodgers Baseball program, support for NEAD’s North End Family Pride Week and the North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC) Summer Concert Series.

Once again, this grant has provided much needed summer recreational activities and special events and a few jobs to boot.

Many North End/Waterfront residents took part and enjoyed the summer programs that took place at several venues throughout the neighborhood.

Hopefully, this grant is available for many years to come.
