FOCCP Presents Columbus Day Celebration

Friends of Christopher Columbus Park will host a Columbus Day Celebration in the park featuring official ceremonies and a family kid-friendly day of events.

The day begins with a parade through the park starting at 10am, followed by a ceremony at the statue of Christopher Columbus at 11am with Italian Consul General Giuseppe Pastorelli.

The fun and games begin with Jenny the Juggler, Tanglewood Marionettes, Magician Peter O’Malley, Big Joe the Storyteller and much more, including games.

“Our Columbus Day Celebration has been an annual event since 2009,” said President Joanne Hayes-Rines. “Kids love marching in our little parade through the park.”

“It’s a great time for North End/Waterfront families and those who visit the park on Columbus Day,” Rines added. The Columbus Day Celebration will be held on Monday, October 8. “All are welcome to attend and enjoy the day.”

Other entertainment will include performances by the North End Music and Performing Arts Center (NEMPAC).

The event is free due to the support of Boston PushCart, Tia’s Restaurant, Al Dente Restaurant, Benevento’s Restaurant, CL Waterfront Properties, LLC and Century Bank.
