Angelo ‘Gabe the Painter’ Virgilio

Angelo G. “Gabe The Painter” Virgilio of Boston’s North End died on August 31.

The beloved husband of Lucy (DiOrio), he was the devoted father of Donna Marie Virgilio, Peter C. Virgilio and Elizabeth, all of the North End; dear brother of the late Anthony Virgilio and is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of his life was held in the Sacred Heart Church (North Square) North End of Boston and he was laid to rest in the Mausoleum in Holy Cross Cemetery. Botte, OFM

Gregory Thomas Botte, O.F.M. of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and Melrose died on August 28.

He was the devoted son of the late Henry W. and Mary A. (Krunkonis) Botte; loving brother of John Botte of Michigan, June Carroll of Wakefield, Diane Mayo of Stoneham, MaryAnne Babineau and Henry Botte, both of Melrose and the late Robert Botte. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield today, Wednesday, September 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial will follow in the Botte Family lot at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Father Gregory’s name to the Pine Street Inn, 444 Harrison Ave., Boston, MA 02118. Arrangements are by The Gately Funeral Home in Melrose. Andrew Thomas Moruzzi

North End Resident

Andrew Thomas Moruzzi of Boston’s North End died on August 29.

He was the beloved husband of the late Karen (Sullivan); devoted father of Andre of Stoughton and Michael of Medford; loving grandfather of Hayden and Jordyn; dear brother of John Moruzzi of Melrose, JoAnne DiMauro of Maine and the late Dominic Moruzzi. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His funeral mass was celebrated in Saint Leonard Church, in Boston’s North End. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. To leave a message of condolence visit www.dellorusso.net.

George Amadeo

Former Commander of North End Am Vets Post

George Amadeo of Saugus, formerly of East Boston and the North End, died on August 29. He was in his 95th year.

He was the beloved husband of the late Ginette (Dasilva) Adadeo of with whom he shared 62 years of marriage; loving father of Joel Amadeo of Medford, Carina Kruger and Jacqueline Amadeo, both of Saugus; dear brother of the late Grace Caruso, Jean Grimner, Peter, Salvatore, Mario and Anthony Amadeo; cherished grandfather of George and Maria Amadeo and Andrea and Frank Scrima, all of Saugus and great grandfather of Alexis and Zachary Scrijma and Gianni and Marcello Amadeo.
