Rose Marie Veloso

Of Medford, formerly of the North End

Rose Marie T. (Palazzolo) Veloso of Medford, formerly of the North End of Boston, died on August 30.

She was the beloved wife of the late Abilio E.; devoted mother of Joseph M. Veloso and Marie N. Veloso, both of Medford and loving grandmother of Robert J. Veloso.

Victor Giglio

Member of North End Amvets

Victor G. Giglio of Charlestown died on August 30. He was 95 years old.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of North End Amvets Post #13.

He wasa the devoted father of Lorraine Nicalosi of Medford, Victor G. Giglio Jr. of Dracut, Janet Reilly-Quinchon of Maine, John Rush of Wakefield and the late Lillian Smith; loving Grandpa to 22 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; beloved brother of Evelyn Villemarie of Somerville, the late Eva Roberts, Helen Allen, Gabriel, Lawrence, Dante, Arthur, Leonard, Robert and Harold Giglio. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Angelo Michael Fasulo

Longtime Malden resident

Angelo Michael Fasulo, a longtime resident of Malden, formerly of the North End, died on August 26 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. He was 90 years old.

He was born February 7, 1921 in East Boston, the son of Carmine and Emelia (Deltigo) Fasulo. He was raised in Boston’s North End, where he attended Commerce High School. Soon after high school, he was inducted into the US Army where he helped our country’s fight in World War II.

He was discharged in 1945, returned to Boston and in 1946, he married his sweetheart, Florence J. Puopolo in St. Mary’s Church in Boston. They settled in the North End and began raising their family. In 1978, they moved their family to Malden, where they have remained.

Angelo and Florence Fasulo shared more than 65 years together. He worked for many years as a polisher and buffer at Boston Plating, where gold and silver plating was applied. He retired in 1982. He was a member of VFW Post 114 of Boston’s North End. Mr. Fasulo appreciated a quiet life, and in his spare time he enjoyed reading

He is survived by his wife Florence J. Fasulo, his children, Emily J. Barreiro and her husband, Matthew of Stoneham, Donna M. Fasulo of Revere, Eileen J. Fasulo and Mark R. Fasulo, both of Malden. He was the son of the late Carmine and Emelia Fasulo and brother of the late Anthony Fasulo.

Theresa D’Alelio

ABCD Woman of the Year 1985

Theresa (Guarino) D’Alelio of Boston’s North End died on  August 27 surrounded by her loving family. She was 99 years old.

She worked for many years as a salesperson at Filenes. She was actively involved in her community, and served on the Board of ABCD (Action for Boston Community Development) in which she was named Woman of the Year in 1985. She also volunteered at the Nazzaro Community Center in the North End and was a member of the Third Order of Saint Francis.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph D’Alelio; loving mother of Joseph D’Alelio of Boston; dear sister of the late Josephine, Joseph, and Arthur Guarino; cherished aunt of Lisa Wetmore and her husband, Scott, great aunt of Jillian Sallee and her husband, Tom, Craig Wetmore and his wife, Jesse, and David Wetmore. She also leaves three loving grand nieces and nephews, Ryan Scott Sallee, Lily Frances Sallee and Juliet Theresa Sallee. She was the aunt of Henry D’Alelio and family.

Franklin Louis ‘Lou’ Drew

California resident

Franklin Louis “Lou” Drew of Redding, CA, formerly of Georgetown, died peacefully surrounded by his wife, daughter, granddaughter and son-in-law in Haverhill on August 26 after a long battle with cancer. He was 59 years old.

Born in Chicago, he was a Substance Abuse Counselor (Retired), Tai Chi Master, avid Golfer, prolific Artist, Actor in and Director of countless community theater productions, enthusiastic collector of autographs, antiquities and classic cars, fan of Star Trek, lover of dogs, and enjoyed eating doughnuts. Lou loved his family, counseled countless people to lasting sobriety, and had a devotion to St. Agrippina Di Mineo, Sicilia. He achieved his final goal of seeing his granddaughter, Sasha, born and holding her in his arms.

He was the loving husband of Melinda Adams of Redding, CA; cherished father of Kathryn Angelena Kulikoski and her husband, Christian Kulikoski of Georgetown; Stepfather of Dr. Frederick Stich, Ph. D, of Redding, CA, Karl David Stich, Jr. and his wife, Esther Stich of Pendleton, and Dr. James O’Dea, M.D., of Cincinnati, OH; grandfather of newborn, Sasha Angelena Kulikoski of Georgetown; Step-Grandfather of Karl David Stich II and Charles Frederick Stich of Pendleton, OR, and Marin, Maura, and Jack O’Dea of Cincinnati, OH; beloved brother of Bernard Drew of North Manchester, IN, Connie Hatfield of Des Moines, IA, and Mae Darrow, State Center, IA. He is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews.

Dora Giammarco

North End Resident

Dora (Federico) Giammarco of Boston’s North End died on August 27. She was 90 years old.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Rosa (Ventresca) and Francesco Federico; loving wife of the late Enrico Giammarco; cherished mother of Giuseppe Giammarco and his wife, Rosa and the late Giovanna DiCenso; loving sister of Joseph Federico and Alighiera Federico; loving grandmother of Enrico Ricci, Doreen Giammarco, Enrico Giammarco and his wife, Mindy, and Domenic Giammarco and his wife, Elena; cherished great grandmother of Gracy, Jenna, Roman, and Vivian Rose. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
