The sun was shining brightly on the Rose Kennedy Greenway Sunday afternoon.

A Greenway Reform (H 1803) Bill has been filed by State Representative Aaron Michlewitz, whose district includes the North End/Waterfront neighborhood, relative to the Rose Fitzgerald Greenway that will change some of the ways the Conservancy operates.

“The bill will renew the state’s commitment to fund the Greenway for another five years,” Michlewitz said. “The bill will also lower the maximum state funding from five to four million dollars,” he added.

“The Greenway Leadership Council would gain veto power over the Conservancy budget,” Michlewitz said. “The Conservancy will now be subject to the state’s open meeting and open records laws,” he added.
