Rita Lucente

Of Revere, formerly of the North End

Rita (Napoleone) Lucente of Revere died on March 29 after a long illness. She was 82 years old.

A homemaker, born and raised in the North End and East Boston, she lived in Revere for most of her adult life.

She was the beloved wife of Michael Lucente Sr.; devoted mother of Anthony of Revere, Gina Farrell and her husband, Stephen, of Wakefield, Michael Jr. and his wife, Renee, of Westford; dear sister of Marie Napoleone of the North End and Umberto Napoleone of Westwood. She is also survived by her five loving grandchildren Kaitlin and Kathleen Farrell, Nicole, Marissa and Michael Lucente III and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, Revere. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. For guestbook www.buonfiglio.com

Jennie Candelino

Of Burlington, formerly of the North End

Jennie R. (Messina) Candelino of Burlington, formerly of the North End, died on March 21.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she moved to the North End of Boston at the age of four and graduated from the Michael Angelo High School in the North End. She lived in the North End until she married her late husband, Rocco, and they then settled in Burlington where she resided for 50 years. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, dancing, but most of all being with her family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Rocco Candelino; loving mother of Joseph and his wife, Alicia, of Wilmington, Rosemarie Bucchino and her husband, James, of Boston, Joyce Rossi and her late husband, Edward, of Boston, Bernadette Ricciardi and her late husband, Patrick, of Revere, the late Janice Balzotti and her husband, Joseph, of East Boston and the late Rocco, Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of Burlington. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

At the request of the family, funeral services and burial were private. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society , 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Doyle-Lane Funeral Homes, Burlington.

Joseph Summa

Member of the North End Italian Society

Joseph P. Summa of Derry, NH., beloved husband of Jean R. (Neale) Summa, died suddenly on March 22.

He was born in Boston to the late Gaspar and Helena (Forte) Summa, married his childhood sweetheart, Jean, on September 9, 1962 and lived in Winthrop before moving to Derry in 1975. He fulfilled his career at Walsh Brothers Incorporated for 30 years. He belonged to the Chester Rod and Gun Club and the North End Italian Society. Mr. Summa enjoyed the company of his family and friends and will be missed.

He is survived by his wife Jean of 49 years, their children Charlene (Summa) Batten and her husband, David, of Derry, Joseph Summa of Derry, and Paul Summa and wife, Maria, of Poquoson, VA. He will truly be missed by his five grandchildren, Tyler Bennett, Athena and Christiana Summa, and Jacob and Alexander Batten. He also leaves his sister, Barbara Sullivan, of Boston, his brothers, Steven and Robert of Chelsea and Winthrop, his uncle Hugo Forte of South Dennis, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late Lucille Summa.
