NEWRA’s monthly meeting attracted a full house at the Nazzaro Community Center.

A request by Nasser Buisier seeking to change the zoning at 357 Commercial Street by enclosing two existing outdoor patios to create additional living space was approved 49-9 by NEWRA at last week’s monthly meeting held in the Nazzaro Community Center.

The Association also approved by a vote of 26-17 a request by John Hauck to modify The Living Room, 101-107 Atlantic Avenue live entertainment license to allow a disc jockey for public clientele on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights until 1pm. The establishment already has a 1am closure time.

However, John Hauck request to extend the business closing license to 2am was denied by NEWRA by a vote of 4 for and 40 against.

NEWRA announced that Battery Street resident David Grant has agreed to be the new chairman of the group’s Clean Streets Committee which meets tonight, Tuesday, March 15 at 7pm in the Nazzaro Community Center, 30 North Bennet Street.

The next NEWRA monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, April 14 at 7pm in the Nazzaro Community Center.
