Carol Settipane-Curran

Of Winthrop, formerly of the North End

Carol (Chirichiello) Settipane-Curran of Winthrop, formerly of Boston’s North End, died on February 12. She was 60 years old.

She was the loving wife of Paul Joseph Curran of Winthrop; cherished daughter of Anna Chirichiello (Puopolo) and the late Rocco Chirichiello; beloved mother of John Settipane and his wife, Danielle, of Winthrop, and Paula Palmer of Saugus; devoted ggrandmother of Alessandra Palmer and John and James Settipane; loving sister of John Chirichiello of Revere.

Funeral arrangements were by the Boston Harborside Home Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Susan G. Komen for the Cure at www.komen.org

Anna Vivolo

North End resident

Anna C. (Galasso) Vivolo of Boston’s North End died on February 12.

She was the devoted mother of Leonard Vivolo and his late wife, Constance, of South Carolina, JoAnne Ruggiero and her husband, Nicholas, of Lynnfield, Phyllis Cesso and her husband, B. Anthony, of Revere; cherished grandmother of Carla DeSimone and her husband, David, Anthony Cessa and his wife, Annmarie, Lisa Cesso, Nicholas Ruggiero Jr. and Mark Ruggiero. She is also survived by three loving great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Joseph Galasso and Lucy Squadrito, both of Medford and was also preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Dello Russo Funeral Home, Medford. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Phyllis R. Brogna of Boston’s North End, died recently.

She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Brogna; devoted mother of Joseph Brogna, Jr. and his wife, Louise, Madelyn Sacco and her husband, Paul, Marguerite Ferullo and her husband, Bill; loving grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 10.

Rose Ciampa

North End resident

Rose (Scelso) Ciampa of Boston’s North End died on February 11. She was 96 years old.

She was the loving wife of the late Felix Ciampa; cherished mother of Lena Nystrom and her husband, John, of Florida, Vincenza Ciampa of Boston, Olympia Ruzzo and her husband, Ralph, of Boston, and Phyllis Ciampa of Boston; loving grandmother of Ralph Jr., Roseann, Kristine, John Jr., Peter, and Nancy; great grandmother of Anthony, Amara, Talia, James, Elise Rose, and Joseph; beloved sister of the late Phyllis Piscitello and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Boston Harborside Home, Boston. Burial was at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston.

Albert A. DiGregorio

North End resident

Albert “Shy” A. DiGregorio, 88, of Boston’s North End, died  on Friday, January 21, 2011. He was the  loving husband of Angela (Pietroforte) DiGregorio of Boston. Cherished father of Carla Bruno and her husband Robert of Weston, Mark DiGregorio and his wife Nancy of Lynnfield. Beloved grandfather of Adam Bruno, Kristin B. Ahlgren and her husband Eric, and Ava DiGregorio. Shy was a member of the Knights of Columbus. A visitation was  held at the Boston Harborside Home, 580 Commercial Street, Boston, MA 02109 on Monday, January 24  followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Leonard Church on the corner of Hanover and Prince Streets. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden, MA.
