Salvatore Fischer

North End resident

Salvatore Fischer of the North End of Boston died on June 22.

A US Army veteran of World War II, he was a 25 year employee of the Boston Naval Ship Yard.

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Tenore); father of Flavia Siuda and her husband, Thomas, of Melrose and the late Robert Fischer; beloved brother of Jane Brown of Texas, Catherine Catulli of Georgetown, Anthony Rinaldi of North Carolina, Joseph Rinaldi of Chelsea, Frank Rinaldi of Texas and the late Freddy Fischer, Benny Fischer, Ann Cherette and Dorothy Raffo; grandfather of Thomas and Jennifer and great grandfather of Kyra, Colby and Kendra. He is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Smith Funeral Home, Chelsea. Burial was in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Boston. Expressions of sympathy in his name may be made to the charity of your choice.

 

Brenda Martinez

Hertz Rental Agent

Brenda (McDonald) Martinez of East Boston, formerly of Medford and Chelsea, died unexpectedly at home on June 17. She was 43 years old.

Born in Stoneham and a resident of Chelsea, Medford and for the last year, East Boston, she was a rental agent for Hertz at Logan Airport for more than 14 years. An avid Red Sox fan, she enjoyed sewing, bingo, arts and crafts and bowling in her spare time.

She was the devoted mother of Jaya Martinez and Katelyn Martinez, both of Lynn; former wife of Felix Martinez of Lynn; daughter of the late Wesley and Beverly (Callahan) Williams; beloved sister of Terry Hatch of Chelsea, Skip Reddington of Peabody, Michael McDonald and Darren McDonald, both of Lowell, Sharleene McDonald of Everett and the late Kim and Joseph Reddington; God daughter of Ester Costa of the North End of Boston; dear granddaughter of the late Theresa and Francis Callahan. She is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

Nora Sarno

North End resident

Nora Sarno of Boston’s North End died on June 21. She was 89 years old.

The cherished daughter of the late Mary (Giardano) and Joseph Sarno, she was the beloved sister of the late Dominic Sarno, Frank Sarno, Sophie Polcari, Margaret Bruno, and Albert Sarno and is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements were by the Boston Harborside Home. Burial was in St. Michael Cemetery, Boston. Richard Taglieri

Of Medford, formerly of the North End

Richard A. Taglieri of Medford, formerly of the North End of Boston, died on June 18.

The devoted father of David Taglieri of Melrose, Stephen Taglieri of Florida, and Christopher Taglieri of Littleton, he was the loving grandfather of Richard, Joseph, Michelle, Samantha, Brooke and Jake and brother of the late Angelina D’Ambrosio.

Of East Boston, formerly of the North End

Angelina “Angie” (Mistretta) Favale of East Boston, formerly of North End of Boston, died on June 18.

The beloved wife of the late Joseph V. Favale, she was the devoted mother of Joseph A. Favale, BPD Ret., and Matthew J., MSP of Boston; dear sister of Catherine Morrow of New Jersey, Mary Ruggiero and her husband, Frank, of Malden and Nora Mistretta of the North End; cherished aunt of Maria Johnson.

Antoinette ‘Etta’ Sannella

Connecticut resident

Antoinette “Etta” (Greco) Sannella of Bridgeport, CT was reunited with her loving husband, Frank, on June 16. She was 87 years old.

Born in the North End of Boston to the late Anthony and Francesca Greco, she had been a Bridgeport resident for the last 50 years.

She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and best friend to her three beloved children, Caren Woods of Monroe, CT, Nina Pasha of Fairfield, CT and Frank Sannella of Oxford, CT; her four loving grandchildren, Kristin Marachi, Jillian Woods, Justin Pasha and Frank Sannella, Jr. and a cherished great-grandson, Jackson Marachi; two sisters, Sr. Trinitas Greco of Windham, NH and Marie Greco of Boston and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Michael and Frank Greco and Lillian Schatzki.
